Wout Weghorst, born August 7, 1989, is a Dutch professional footballer who plays as a striker. He currently plays for Manchester United and the Netherlands national team.

Weghorst began his career with FC Emmen in the Dutch second division. After making a name for himself in Emmen, he moved to Heracles Almelo in the Eredivisie, where he quickly established himself as a prolific scorer.

Rise to Prominence

In 2018, Weghorst signed for Wolfsburg, where he continued his impressive form. He scored 20 goals in his first season in the Bundesliga, helping Wolfsburg qualify for the UEFA Europa League.

His performances for Wolfsburg earned him a move to Burnley in the Premier League. Despite Burnley's struggles in the league, Weghorst managed 7 goals in 21 appearances.

International Career

Weghorst made his debut for the Netherlands national team in 2018. He has since become a regular member of the squad, scoring 5 goals in 19 appearances.

Most notably, Weghorst scored 2 goals against Argentina in the 2022 FIFA World Cup quarter-finals. Despite his heroics, the Netherlands were eliminated in a penalty shootout.
