The Boston Bruins have bolstered their defense with the signing of Connor Carrick to a one-year contract worth $750,000. The 28-year-old defenseman joins the Bruins after spending most of last season with the Chicago Blackhawks.
Carrick has played in 190 NHL games for the Toronto Maple Leafs, Washington Capitals, New Jersey Devils, and Blackhawks, recording 49 points (13 goals, 36 assists). His career-best season came in 2014-15 with the Hershey Bears in the AHL, where he scored 67 points (16 goals, 51 assists) in 76 games.
The Bruins' acquisition of Carrick adds depth and versatility to the team's blue line. His offensive capabilities and experience in various roles will provide coach Jim Montgomery with a valuable asset.
